I know there were some things I wanted to blog about from Wednesday the 18th, but I left my notes elsewhere, so I'll have to come back to that.
I'm in Chicago! It's "girls weekend" and bead-search 2008. This is the first time as an adult that I've spent extensive quality time with my aunts and cousin, and I think it needs to become a tradition. I like this city. It's true that you are constantly looking up. The architecture is so varied and gorgeous that I'm craning my neck all the time to get a glimpse into lush courtyards, or tripping over cracks in the pavement as I stare at stained glass windows, tin cupolas, statues and fountains. I narrowly missed a dog "pile" on my walk in Old Town yesterday. While in Old Town I visited a cute bead shop and bought some interesting strands. Candy Apple coral in reddish yellow with little brown squiggles on them, which look like Asian characters. I also got blue sand-blasted agate, which looks divine next to the candy-apple coral. The rest of the goodies are a surprise! You'll have to stop by the store to check it out.
I got up this morning at 6! It was really 7 in NY time. I wanted to go for a jog, but the hotel gym is under renovation, so I ran up and down the stairs from the 2nd floor to the 11th 2 times. By floor 9 I was winded. Kinda pathetic. I was trying to run off the gluttonous feast we had last night at the "Melting Pot". There were three courses of Fondue: cheese, meat and chocolate...oooh, my tummy was about to burst, but it was all great!
Time for more coffee...Stay tuned!
