Thursday

Yesterday was a positively giddy day. The store was busy, the customers were friendly, Dave Huntington of CNY Computer Services (http://www.cnyservices.com/) set up my email account and explained how to send out mass emails AND, I finally got the June Newsletter/Calender sent out! Hooray! I posted the calender and the newletter on this site as well. (Check the bottom of the page for the newletter, calender on the right) Oh, and I met Alyson McDermott who is a school-teacher/wedding photographer who thought the store looked great and noticed the differences! I was so pumped that my tedious work sorting and re-organizing wasn't in vain. We waxed poetic on PMC for a while, and I'm hoping she'll be back to take a class. Check out her website at http://www.alysonbeth.com/ Alyson takes beautiful shots. I especially like the one of the bride having her eye-shadow applied and the groom holding a wedding band.

Audrey Langkammerer of Doodles Cakes also stopped by the store. She makes fancy delights like in "Ace of Cakes", one of my new favorite reality TV shows. Check out Audrey's cakes at http://www.doodlescakes.com/. So, I'm one of those people (as I am sure anyone who has seen me eat cake is well aware of) who likes to pick off the leaves, flowers, lettering, piping or other toppings made entirely out of sugar and eat that first. I also like to pick the toppings off of other people's pieces. I generally like the frosting better than the cake. I love people who scrape the frosting off their cake and into a delicious mass of sugar and crumbs. I will gladly trade my cake stripped of icing for their mangled frosting. (I also like to eat the "chunks" out of pints of ice-cream. Ben and Jerry's has the best chunks in "Everything But The.. "My chunk pilfering habit use to drive my mother and then room mates mad...but I digress). You can imagine my delight in seeing Audrey's cakes, especially "Spring has Sprung" and "Van Gogh Sunflowers". Here's a fun little game. Say "cake". Now take a bite of cake, and say "cake" again. Cool right? Cake SOUNDS like CAKE! That might be one of my favorite words.

I want every day to be as much fun as this Thursday.
