Bye bye buddy

Gonzo passed away on November 22 at noon. I had to sign the paperwork allowing his euthanasia, which was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. He was in acute kidney failure, and there was nothing we could do. I am completely devastated. He was such a good boy, and his ghost is everywhere. Under the desk where he used to sit to keep my feet warm, the back of the car where he deposited tons of hair, the front window where he used to peek out with a alert perk to his ears when I arrived home, the tennis balls thawing in the back yard, and waiting to be tossed, still stuck in the chuck-it. His food bowls, water dish, bones, collars, leashes. It's so painful to get through each day. He was my shadow, my constant companion and best buddy. I miss him terribly.

erin,
I am truly sorry to hear about your beloved buddy Gonzo. I was hoping he would be back in the store with you any day now. Our buddies love us and trust us to protect and take care of them and you loved him enough to let him go. I am thinking of you and wish you peace of heart and spirit.

Erin, I am so sorry to hear about your shadow...I went through the loss of my own shadow, Bear, a few months ago- tragically hit by a car. I can sympathize and send my thoughts of compassion to you.
Take care, Mariah Giles
