Scribbles and lists

Argh! Owning a bead shop is a lot of work! Especially after taking 7 days off! The stress of being back at the shop after a break is finally starting to wear off. I had a very nice, low-key and relaxing holiday, and my brain has been on vacation for a while! I am feeling more caught up now, though still not enough to work on my own jewelry. Sigh. Need to whip up a few more store samples, come up with a survey, decorate the shop, organize the back room, and THEN I'll start to create for myself.

I'm a big fan of lists. I've got several lists going right now actually. Groceries, things I need at Target (both for home and the store) things from Staples (again, for home and store). It's such a good feeling to check somehting off the list. I actually prefer drawing a big thick line through items, or getting a little frustration out with a scribble. But the biggest and most daunting list I'm working on right now is my Wish List for Tucson! What should I get while I'm there? Gemstones? What kind? Pearls, silver, gold-filled, copper...I could get myself in trouble out there. I want to mention that if there's anything you're dying to work with (some nice new apatite perhaps?) now's the time to tell me! I'll do my best to fill requests in AZ.

So, now I can cross "write blog post" off my list. With a scribble.

A great mentor of mine taught me this: if you get off-task (meaning deviating from 'the list'), you should later add those things to the list and immediately cross them off. SO satisfying! Plus it means you can work on your own stuff, and then later cross it off...
