It's been such a productive day. I shipped out a box of my jewelry to Carlton, who will be selling it for me at the Queen City Craft Bazaar. I really wish I could be there, because I LOVE the QCCB. This will be the 4th time I've sold there, alongside such talented artists as Jennifer Kahn! It's a lot of fun in an awesome venue: the old train station in Burlington is converted into an indoor shopping gallery, filled with hand crafted goods of all varieties. Pottery, clothing, jewelry. It's a juried show, and only takes the best (not trying to toot my own horn, but I'm proud!)
I also dropped off business cards for my Memorial Jewelry to the Emergency Vet on Bridge St, where we took Gonzo. I also took them to the SPCA, and to Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital of Manlius. While there, Connie asked me if I'd be interested in having some examples of my work shown there at the end of May, when she plans to have a little open house, showcasing local artists who specialize in pet-themed artwork. Of course I said I'd love to! More details to come.
Thanks to the help of some of my customers who are making deliveries, I will have my cards at the Animal Hospital in Wampsville, Liverpool, and Baldwinsville. I've also dropped them off at Cazenovia Animal Hospital and The DogGone Inn in Manlius! Oh, and I also met with Kelle McCaan from Eagle Papers today, and they will be doing a little article about my jewelry in their May 13th Pet-themed insert! Quite a day.
Last week I picked up another foster pup, Tanner. (He has caught the scent of something, and is pacing around the backyard right now, trying to find it! I wonder what it could be? Another dog scent? A bunny? Squirrel? Tanner is a real sweetie. I've been calling him Arrow. I can't wait for him to meet Colby. I hope they adore each other. He's only about 6 months old (which means he was born around the time Gonzo died.) He's quite mellow for a puppy. Kind of hard to believe he is that young. And NO bad habits! He's eager to please, likes treats and petting, and is a great running buddy. I really enjoyed having Harry, but he wasn't a good fit for Colby and that is a top priority for me. (Lets face it too, I'm "fostering" with the hope to find my next pup). I would have liked to keep fostering Harry though, to help find him a home. He was so well liked by everyone who met him, I don't think it would be hard to find a home for him. He just needs some exposure. I was fostering him while I was also watching Colby, and it got to be too much! I couldn't give them both enough attention, so he went back to his original foster mom. I intended to pick him up again, but didn't hear back from his foster mom until I'd already picked up Tanner (Arrow). I wish there was more time in the day to foster dogs, make jewelry, and run a bead shop!
Here's a picture of Arrow enjoying his first bone, and out for a walk at Stoney Pond. If you live in the area, make sure to check the Eagle Bulletin (or Caz Republican, and the slew of other Eagle paper names!) for my article and ad! (Did I spell that right? The spell check isn't working)
