Today I held the first PMC Guild meeting since I've owned DFB. I'd say it was pretty successful! It was great to get all of these like-minded individuals together to brainstorm and figure out what we'd all like to see happen for our guild. I'm glad I finally got my act together and got it done!
I've been feeling so guilty for not keeping up more with writing these posts. I signed myself up on Twitter too, thinking that I'd be more likely to just do status updates, but I've yet to Twitt. There just aren't enough hours in the day to do it all.
I'm SO thankful to Jackie Rice, who put together a beautiful business card for me for my memorial jewelry pieces. After I made Gonzo's piece and started wearing it, I got many compliments, which usually led to stories of other pets that people have loved and lost. When Meg lost Monster, she asked me to make a piece, then they did a little blurb on my Gonzo piece in the Post, and I got to thinking, "why not make these for others?" It helped me so much with the grieving process, and I'd love to be able to help others through their grief in some way. I feel like it takes me back to my social work "roots". So now I guess it's official. I've started leaving cards at Animal clinics and other pet-related establishments. I'm afraid there will be even less time in the day now.
