Had a little play session yesterday with Laura and my mom. We worked with the brand spanking new copper clay. It actually comes as a powder, and gets mixed with water to form the clay. It was trickier than it sounded. We never got a very good consistency with the clay. The first round I think was because we forgot the shake the container first. The second batch we did exactly as the directions described, but still there were issues with the clay. It did handle a lot like the Bronz clay, but the consistency was more like the Bronz as it's drying out. The clay felt cold and moist, but looked and acted dry. Finally mom and I just started making stuff, figuring it was an experiment. I was able to make component pieces for some copper bells. I'll have to post a photo of the ones I've been making in PMC, I love them! They make a delicate sound when worn, and they make me want to turn my head a lot so I can hear them tinkle. I've been furiously trying to get jewelry done for the beCAUSE show in VT, and I'm actually feeling like I'm in relatively good shape. I've chosen the North Shore Animal League as my charity and will make my donations in Gonzo's name.
I got some really sad news today. My "twin" cousin (we share the same birthday, a year apart) lost her dog yesterday. He was attacked by another dog and shaken to death. I know she is devastated and I am so sad for her. She is preparing for her wedding in June and working on her Phd, and this just came out of left field. Monster was her first dog. She and I shared many dog stories and training tips. I wish I was closer to her so I could give her a big hug.

Dear Erin:
So sorry about your cousin's dog. And blessings on Gonzo, and all of our dear departed canine loves. We never stop loving them.
