Ok. I'm lighting a fire under my own butt. It's time to get my act together and get myself in gear. I have a list on my desk right now, reminding me of the things I need to do daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly:
Twitter post. I kept hearing about Twitter, so I joined, but then I never tweeted. What gives? So silly. So expect a daily Twitt (except, perhaps on Sunday and Monday. A girl needs a day or two away from technology!) Then there is answering emails, phone calls, daily to-do's. And, after doing some reading on The Crafty Retailer (www.thecraftyretailer.blogspot.com) I am going to spend time every day MAKING something rather than get mired in frustration over "never having time" and then losing the momentum and motivation to create.
WEEKLY
A blog post! You loyal readers deserve more than a monthly update. Interesting things happen to me at least weekly, and it's time to tell you about them. As an example, I went for a bike ride yesterday with Carlton and the dogs. We went along the Erie Canal to Green Lakes, which, by the way, has some spectacular lakes with aqua water that would make you think you were in the Caribbean! I received a bugbite which is literally 1.2" by 1". I measured it. As if that weren't interesting enough, I ALSO got a LOT of new beads and findings at the Syracuse Gem and Mineral show, and they are inventoried and out in the store. I also got a new PMC book called Silver Clay Keepsakes. I liked it so well I kept one for myself. I will also strive to take photos and update my Etsy site, (www.elmbellishments.etsy.com) as well as get to work on my NEW website, which I will reveal once it is set up and "launched". MONTHLY
Stinking newsletter. I complain about it every month, and it's time to just shut up and get it done. I'm also going to start working on monthly promotions and other communications.I have other things listed in each of these columns, but I don't think they are of much interest, ans they include the minutiae of running business. Sigh.
