Sometimes the best laid plans...

Ok..so at least I'm sticking to my plan to blog at least once a week. But I have had such a good week, it's going to be difficult to remember all the specifics!

My mom spent the last week at Quilting by the Lake, held for the first time this year at OCC (she's been attending for the last 20 some odd years, first at Caz College, then most recently at Morrisville). On Thursday night, (or was it Wednesday...see what I mean about remembering specifics?!) she arranged a "Road Trip" and brought several of her class mates, and her teacher Anna Hergert (http://www.annahergert.com/ert.com/) (Check out Anna's work, truly amazing.) to the store for a mini "ladies night out". They enjoyed browsing around the store, and I enjoyed the purchases they made, including some of the new earrings I just came up with, and which I LOVE called "Thought Bubbles". I'll have to get some photos on this site. Their evening ended at Kimberly's for ice cream. Sigh. Wish I could have joined them there!

Last week was also our first session of Kids Summer Bead Camp. The campers were all so sweet and they made about 6 great projects. They had such a good time they were begging to come back for session two! Meghan came up with all new projects in case they come back. Look at this creative group!

The other day I met with a student of the Neuhaus school at Syracuse. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, a very large oversight on specifics. I met her through Jen who is the owner of Thanks a Latte. This young woman was working on a project for her class about businesses using social-networking sites. As a blogger and a new Twitter-er, she wanted to pick my brain about what social networking has done for the store. I know I'm only just scratching the surface of the available resources online. But it was interesting to contemplate the impact things like Twitter, Facebook and Blogging have on businesses these days.

On Sunday, I went to the Quilt Show at QBL with my mom. We'd planned to also go to the craft fair downtown, but didn't get to it. I made some really wonderful contacts at the quilt show, and sold 5 pair of my "Though Bubble" earrings!! They are so popular, again, I've got to get a picture up here.

Yesterday I picked up Cocoa from the airport, then took a most wonderful nap, took the dogs for a bike ride, and had my friend Jenny Ryan over for dinner. With Carlton out of town, and Cocoa just back in town, it was nice to have a group of ladies together to giggle about men leaving the toilet seat up (I'm sorry men, but you know you're guilty), and enjoy a little wine and Canoli (I was convinced I didn't like Canoli. Unfortunately...I do!)

Today was a really busy day. I felt kind of "chicken-with-head-cut-off". It's nice to be busy, but today I felt like I wasn't able to give people as much of the kind of attention I'd like to be able to. I had a rush of 7 people come in at once to make jewelry! Ahh! So I felt a little divided. I'm exhausted and ready for a nice glass of chilled white wine. Which I don't have in my fridge. So looks like it might be luke warm tap water.

One final note, here's Arrow hard at work (or hardly working) as Store Dog
