Siiiiiiiiiiiiigh. I'm back home. I miss VT already. Can you imagine working in a setting like this? Look at this amazing studio! I do, however, feel like my creativity has been re-kindled and I can't wait to play more with PMC, after a solid sleep!

The Studio

Only finished one of my hinged boxes yesterday and then did some keum-boo on it (adding 24k gold foil). The un-fired box is my favorite, and if it fires well, it will be amazing. I'm really hoping nothing falls apart, it was a lot of freaking work! It's very locket-like and I love the way it looks now. Here are a few pictures of the locket pre-fire. It may not look like much, but keep in mind those tiny little hinges were made by hand. Which consisted of rolling out rods of clay, using a flex-shaft to sand them, then drilling through them! If you've ever tried to drill through leather-hard clay the diameter of a spaghetti noodle, then meticulously attached 2mm tubes to a narrow ledge, you will appreciate those hinges!

I'm so exhausted! I had such an amazing time, and part of me wishes it could have gone on for several more weeks. Another part of me doesn't think my brain could have handled any more! I need a nap.
