Siiiiiiigh. I love it here. Really wish that I was taking a PMC class every other week with Celie Fago in Bethel VT. I'm sitting outside the studio now, looking at the beautiful mountains in the distance, tired but invigorated and filled with ideas and inspiration.
Our magical view from the studio.
Blogging, however, is proving more difficult than I'd imagined! I'm staying at Marge's B and B in Sharon VT. It's 4 and 1/2 miles down a dirt road. Very cool, but very low tech! Which is great when you're on a creative vacation, but not so good when trying to keep your public abreast of what's going on (I sound like royalty! My "public"??)
Neighbors at the B and B!
I arrived around 8 last evening, after scrambling around my house and store gathering up supplies in a haze of caffeine. As soon as I crossed into Vermont, I felt like I was home again. What a beautiful state. I took Route 4 E from Rutland to White River Junction, a scenic and twisting road. I drove through Woodstock at dusk, and it was bustling with activity. Woodstock is one of my favorite cities in Vermont....I wished I'd have more time here to explore. When I got to the B and B, I was greeted by Marge and my "roommate" Kellie...we're staying at a working farm, in the old farm house with not much privacy. Which is actually fine, as Kellie and I chatted amiably until bed and are getting along quite nicely. Wendy will be joining us this evening (she's in the CNY Chapter of the PMC guild with me!) Marge had baked fresh chocolate chip cookies, fresh bread, fresh zucchini bread, and fresh brownies! Such a treat. I slept so well.
The Round Barn
Today I arrived and we did the tear-away texture in the morning. Since I had worked on this technique in the past, I knew what to expect and am pleased with the Indian motif collage I put together, and the textures that I created. Celie demo-ed some hinge-making techniques, and we got started on making hinges. She tells us it's a very advanced technique, and when I tried my first few hinges, I very much believed her. By the end of today (currently) my brain feels over-loaded. I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep, and another day of creativity tomorrow!
